Commercial Laundry Washer Maintenance: What you Need to Know

Commercial Laundry Washer Maintenance: What you Need to Know

When you have a sizable laundry business and have invested in high-quality equipment, the last thing you want is for it to break down. Not only can repairs be expensive, but even one machine broken down can severely limit how much laundry you can get through each day, sending your facility into meltdown. That’s why it’s a wise idea to organise a preventive maintenance membership for your industrial laundry washer.

Let’s go through what maintenance usually involves and how to ensure your washer’s longevity!

Commercial Washer Maintenance

When you purchase your Commercial washing equipment, you also get a user’s manual. This is where you’ll find all the information you need on maintenance and how often it should be performed.

If you’re handy on the tools, It’s not a bad idea to roll up your sleeves and do the maintenance yourself. This way, you get familiar with the machine’s inner workings – you’ll understand what it’s like in tip-top shape and also notice warning signs much faster. It’s not much different than owning a car and getting to know it!

Here are a few useful tips to help you keep your industrial laundry equipment in pristine condition!

    1. Clean the water filter screens regularly. They often get clogged with debris and micro particles and won’t allow for good water flow in the machine. This can lead to lower performance and, in time, malfunction.
    2. Check joints and connections for leaks. Even a small leak can lead to very high water bills or, worse, a flood.
    3. Clean the soap drawers regularly. Detergents and conditioners tend to build up, but you can easily remove them by soaking the drawers in hot water.

It’s also recommended you replace water inlet hoses and internal hoses every 5 years, as they are highly susceptible to wear & tear.

Don’t let your industrial washing machines run themselves into the ground. With the proper care, you can rely on them for many years. And when you do need to buy a new industrial washing machine, get in touch and we’d be happy to help you out.
